2- Write an analysis on a piece we have sung or are currently singing in class. This analysis might include: (50 potential points)
- Biographical information on the composer/arranger
- Historical/cultural context of the text
- Insights about the musical setting of the text (musical devices the composer uses to help illustrate the text)
- Assessment of various performances of this song
- Include youtube links of the performances
- Compare and contrast at least 2 performances. This should be a critical analysis. Please don’t say “I didn’t like this one cuz it just wasn’t good.” I’d rather see comments like, “this performance was not as effective because with a choir of 50 women and 15 men it’s just too hard to achieve a balance of sound.”
